Okay.  So I know that's really a stretch to use that term, but we really did make the cover of our local publication, Governor's Living Magazine!  We knew that we would be the Feature Business of the Month, yet had no idea we made the cover until our phones started pinging us with comments like "Nice Cover!"

Here's the accompanying article:

Creative Countdown:  Looking Forward

"'What I like best,' said Pooh, and then he had to stop and think...although eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called."

Governors Lake residents and business partners Amy Gamber and Joanie Hickey, however, know precisely what it's called: anticipation.  They built their business, Creative Countdown, LLC upon that very premise that anticipation can be as good as - sometimes even better than - the thing we anticipate.

Their website's birth is tied to Amy and husband Chris' own anticipation of the birth of son Keenan.  Determined to give a personalized "countdown to baby" shower gift, Joanie discovered that no such product existed.  The women quickly realized they'd discovered a unique business idea and launched their site late 2012.  There, customers can Savor The Suspense® by building  personalized countdown calendars for events, available in printed desktop format (perfect as gifts), or daily/weekly emails (perfect fr groups anticipating parties, reunions or grand openings).

Creative Countdown clients can develop customized countdowns for any milestone, or opt for one of the quick, easy "standard" options to Savor The Suspense® of a popular event, like wedding or retirement.  Amy and Joanie say that anticipation and counting down are often the best part of the event we await:  "We help our customers extend the enjoyment of something they're looking forward to."

While building a business means lots of late nights and hectic weekends, the partners find their work amazingly fulfilling.  "We've printed some touching countdowns - such as the path through cancer treatment and return from deployment.  These are moments of great joy in peoples' lives, and we get to be just a wee part of it."

If, like Winnie the Pooh, you appreciate the sweetness of anticipation, head over to www.creativecountdown.com and let Amy and joanie help you Savor The Suspense® of your special moment.
